| DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITY |
| Arrival at Mexico City airport, where you are met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight in Mexico City. |
| Day 2 - MEXICO CITY - HISTORICAL CENTER AND ANTHROPOLOGY MUSEUM |
| Breakfast. Full day tour of the historical Center of Mexico City. Visit “The Zocalo”, the Cathedral, the Main Aztec Temple, and the National Palace its beautiful murals, painted by the great artist, Diego Rivera. Visit Chapultepec Park and the “Pink Zone”, before returning to the hotel and spending the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Mexico City. |
| DAY 3 - MEXICO CITY – PUEBLA - OAXACA |
| Breakfast. Leave Mexico City for Puebla, the “City of Angels”, where the majority of its buildings are decorated with tiles and beautifully sculpted freestone. Visit Santa Maria Tonantzintla, a temple gorgeously decorated by indigenous hands, the Rosary Chapel, the Cathedral, the main square and historical downtown. Lunch included. Continue to Oaxaca. Overnight in Oaxaca. |
| Day 4 - OAXACA – MONTE ALBAN – MITLA - TULE |
| Breakfast. Visit Monte Alban, built on a mountain by the Zapoteca where we will find important cultural remains of the Olmeca, Zapoteca, and Mixteca. Visit the Main Square, the Observatory, the Stones of the Dancers, and Tomb #7. Continue to the archaeological city of Mitla, where the buildings are decorated with symbolic mosaics. Stop at the Tule Tree en route, one of the largest living beings in the world. Return to Oaxaca to visit the Cathedral, the Seven Regions Fountain, Santo Domingo Church, the Chapel of the Rosary, and the Gold Museum. Overnight in Oaxaca. |
| DAY 5 - OAXACA – SUMIDERO CANYON – SAN CRISTOBAL |
| Breakfast en route. Early morning departure to Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital city of the state of Chiapas. Enjoy the landscape of the southern mountains and the Indian communities along the way. Boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, 1000 meters at its highest point. Lunch. Pass through Chiapa de Corzo and visit its impressive Mudejar style fountain on our way to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight at San Cristobal. |
| DAY 6 - SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS – NATIVE COMUNITIES |
| Breakfast. Visit San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, typical native towns, and witness an ancient religious ritual ceremony. In the afternoon, visit the Market, the Cathedral, and the famous Santo Domingo Church. Overnight in San Cristobal. |
| DAY 7 - SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS – AGUA AZUL - PALENQUE |
| Breakfast. Continue to Agua Azul waterfalls to admire its turquoise colored waters. Visit Misol-Ha waterfalls also if time permits. Continue on to Palenque. Dinner and overnight in Palenque. |
| Day 8 - PALENQUE - CAMPECHE |
| Breakfast. Visit the UNESCO Archaeological Heritage site of Palenque, an ancient Mayan city. Tour the Temple of the Inscriptions, where King Pakal’s Tomb was discovered. We head for the coastal town of Campeche, where the Spanish first set foot on Mexican soil. Dinner and overnight in Campeche. |
| DAY 9 - CAMPECHE – UXMAL - MERIDA |
| Breakfast. City tour of the Historic Fortified town of Campeche, a UNESCO heritage site. Visit its cathedral, fortresses, walls, mansions, and plazas. Departure to Uxmal, another UNESCO site to visit The Fortune Teller Pyramid, the Nun’s Square, the Governor’s Palace, and the Ballgame Court. Lunch. Continue to Merida, the “White City” to take a tour through the Monteio Boulevard, the Monument to the Motherland and the Main Square ”Three times built! To know the Guesser Pyramids, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, Governor’s palace and the ballgame court. Continue to Merida, “The white city” to enjoy a panoramic view of Montejo avenue, the monument to Motherland, the main square, the cathedral and government palace. Overnight in Merida. |
| DAY 10 - MERIDA – CHICHEN TZA – CANCUN or MAYAN RIVIERA |
| Breakfast. Discover Chichen Itza, undoubtedly the best-preserved Mayan site on the peninsula, and recently declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the modern world. Tour of the ruin grounds visiting The Castle, the Ballgame Court, The Observatory, the One Thousand Columns Square, the Jaguars’ Temple, and the Sacred Well. Lunch. Continue to Cancun or Mayan Riviera. Overnight in Cancun or Mayan Riviera. |
| DAY 11 - CANCUN or MAYAN RIVIERA |
| Breakfast. Free day at leisure or for your own activities. Overnight in Cancun or Mayan Riviera. |
