| Day 1: Lima |
| Upon arrival at the airport in Lima, you will be welcomed to Peru and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Lima. |
| Day 2: Lima |
| After eating breakfast, enjoy a tour of historic and modern Lima. Stops include the Government Palace, Cathedral, Monastery of San Francisco and the Archbishop's Palace. You will also tour traditional neighbourhoods like San Isidro, where olive groves date back 450 years. You will spend the night at a hotel in Lima. Alternatively, this tour of Lima can be moved to the beginning of the trip. |
| DAY 03 Lima-Cuzco |
| Following breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco. After your flight, you will be greeted and taken to your hotel, before embarking on a tour of Cuzco. Sights include the Plaza de Armas, which was the symbolic centre of the Inca empire, and today serves as the city's central square; the Cathedral, which houses an original cross carried by the Spanish conquistadors; Koricancha, the famed temple of the Sun God; and Tambomachay, the “Bath of the Inca,” in which crystalline water tumbles through ancient terraces and stonework. You will also visit nearby ruins: Kenko, an amphitheatre used for sacred Inca rites; the “Red Fort” of Puca Pucará, a complex of towers, terraces, stairways, niche-filled halls and access-ways; and the famed Sacsayhuaman, an example of perfect Inca stonework spread across massive walls and three platforms. After the tour, overnight in your accommodations in Cuzco. |
| Day 4: Cuzco-Machu Picchu-Cuzco |
| Enjoy breakfast, then transfer to the station of San Pedro for the train journey to Aguas Calientes. You will then travel by bus to the famed ruins of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the site, including its squares, temples, platforms and ceremonial enclosures, as well as the royal temple and sun clock, all built with the precise, mortar-less stonework for which the Inca are famous. You will also see the Inca irrigation channels, which still carry clear mountain water through carved rocks. Lunch is included. Afterwards, you will return to Cuzco, where you will spend the night. |
| Day 5: Cuzco-Lima |
| After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima to connect to your flight home. |
